Legislative Overview

OSWA actively participates in each legislative session with a full time lobbyist to address issues important to small woodland owners.

Roger Beyer, a small woodland owner from Clackamas County and a past state senator, is OSWA's lobbyist for the 2015 Legislative Session.

Through collaboration with allied organizations, OSWA has had success in protecting the interests of small woodland owners.

On odd legislative years, OSWA holds an event at the state Capital during the legislative session to introduce legislators to issues important to small woodland owners and to educate OSWA members about the inter-workings of Oregon's legislative process. This event, known as "Day at the Capital", has been effective in meeting both objectives.
