Benton County Twilight Tour

When:  Friday, September 20 at 5:30 pm

Where: Near Philomath.  Take Alsea Highway 34 west of Philomath about 10 miles to Decker Road.  Head east on Decker Road for about 2.25 miles and look for Benton Small Woodlands signs.

This is a great opportunity to see thinning underway in an 18 year old Douglas fir stand.

If you are interested in maximizing production, and thinning in an efficient manner, you will walk away with new ideas and important observations.

Van Decker has been using his tree farm as a real-life lab in obtaining growth and production above industry norms.

Expect discussion on the advantages and efficiency of planting in rows.  Learn about timing, density, and economics of thinning.

Visit with Van and other experienced timber professionals on how these lessons can apply to small acreage forest owners.

No need to RSVP and be sure to bring a friend!
