The OSU Extension - Master Woodland Manager (MWM) training will be offered in northeast Oregon this fall! The MWM program provides advanced, hands-on training in forest management through a combination of online coursework and in-person field days. Whether you own one or 1,000 acres, the MWM program will help you further your skills and understanding of forest management and empower you to share your knowledge with peers, neighbors, and local organizations.

This fall’s training will be led by Extension Foresters, Jacob Putney and John Punches, with support from MWM Coordinator, Sarah Cameron. The course includes seven field days, with each focusing on core forestry topics such as forest health, silviculture, watersheds, taxes and more. Sessions will take place on Fridays from September 18th through November 20th, meeting every other week until October 30th, then weekly until graduation. Most field sites will be located in Union County.

Registration is open now! The cost of the training is $100 for individuals, $150 for couples or family members, or free for returning Master Woodland Managers. For the full schedule and to register online, visit:
