What You Need to Know About the New Oregon Forest Practice Rules

Oregon forestland owners planning forest operations have new rules to follow this year. This 4-part series will explore the most important changes to the Oregon Forest Practice Rules that took effect in 2024. Class topics include:

  • Session 1 | Tues. March 12, 3pm - 5pm | (Registration closes March 8)

    • Submitting a Notification of Operations to ODF. Road condition assessments, road construction & maintenance rules.

  • Session 2 | Thurs. April 11, 3pm - 5pm | (Registration closes April 8)

    • Funding opportunities for small woodland owners, including culvert replacement & road improvement funds, & the new Forest Conservation Tax Credit.

  • Session 3 | Wed. May 15, 3pm - 5pm | (Registration closes May 13)

    • Riparian rules part 1: how to conduct a stream permanence survey & design stream buffers on your property.

  • Session 4 | Thurs. June 6, all day field tour | (Registration closes June 2)

    • Riparian rules part 2: A field day looking at riparian management areas & practicing stream survey/buffer skills.

    • Field tour date and time subject to change

Choose the workshop session(s) that you would like to attend, one or all.

Free to attend, but space is limited to sign up early. Pre-registration is requested. If we reach max capacity, walk-in's will not be allowed.
