  • Peavy Forest Science Center | OSU Corvallis, OR (map)

Woodland Information Night

Where:  OSU's Peavy Forest Science Center
When:  6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6th

We have three great topics this year:

  • The Small Tract Forest Tax Option - Is it for You? Terry Lamers will share information that will help forest landowners understand the two forest land taxation options.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a property tax statement which contains the information you need to find out which one is most advantageous.  Terry Lamers is the Marion-Polk Small Woodlands president and is also a member of the Polk County forest classification committee.

  • Truffles in the Forest with Joyce Eberhard, North American Truffling Society (NATS).  Joyce Eberhart is retired from Oregon State University after 38 years in research on forest mushrooms and truffles. The mission of NATS is to enhance the scientific knowledge of North American truffles and truffle-like fungi, and promote related educational activities.

  • Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) will share information on new and expanded programs available to small woodland owners where you can get financial and technical assistance for forest management plans, oak restoration, and forest resilience activities.

The workshop will be held at OSU's Peavy Forest Science Center, 3100 SW Jefferson Way, Corvallis, Starker auditorium/room 117, next to the Jefferson Street entrance. (Campus Map link)

Parking, free after 5 p.m., is available in the lot south of Peavy which can be accessed from Washington Way or south bound 30th St. (Parking Map Link)
