This workshop will teach you the basics of woodland roads and how they work through a combination of classroom and field-based instruction. We will cover standard types of roads, drainage features and surface types. Participants will learn about effective approaches for monitoring that will help catch problems early and save money. Essentials of the new Road Condition Assessment (RCA) form, which is required for harvest notifications, will be covered as well.

Calling all female forestland owners! The Women Owning Woodlands Network invites you to a fun afternoon filled with connection, learning, and wildflowers. We will start with a potluck social, then walk the property to spot and identify wildflowers, many of which were seeded just last year.

2024 Fire Season Preparedness Workshop
A workshop for anyone looking to learn about local resources & prepare for the upcoming fire season.
Thursday, April 25, 2024 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The evening will kick off with a pizza social from 5-5:30 p.m. (suggested $5 contribution per person, paid at the door). We’ll then hear from the Douglas Forest Protective Association, North Douglas County Fire, and Douglas County Emergency Management about what services they offer, what happens in the event of a fire, and what you can do to prepare for fire. A 2024 fire season forecast will be provided.
